Narrative
Whitesell was raped and strangled near Troutdale, Ore., on July 13, 1990. Marcus William Blalock, 19, and another young man were arrested; charges against the other man were later dropped. Blalock was sentenced in October 1991 and is serving a life term at Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla, Ore.
